Fiji Day Celebration at Westminster Abbey and Marlborough House

Fiji marked its national day with a memorable celebration at Westminster Abbey and Marlborough House, hosted by the High Commissioner of Fiji. The event brought together influential figures including Barnabas Scotland, Commonwealth Secretariat Secretary-General, and Catherine West MP, Minister for Indo-Pacific at the FCDO.

High Commissioner of Fiji, His Excellency, highlighted the significance of this year’s celebration, noting:

“As we commemorate Fiji’s independence, we also reflect on our shared history, including the legacy of Girmit—our indentured ancestors who paved the way for the Fiji we know today.”

Catherine West MP expressed,
